ACT Spay and Neuter Clinic

In early 2008, members of the Abandoned Cat Team Board of Directors attended a spay/neuter conference in Chicago, Il. At that time they learned of a program funded by PetsMart Charities and mentored by the Humane Alliance of Ashville, NC, home of the NSNRT (National Spay Neuter Response Team). Humane Alliance is a sought-after model for high quality, high-volume, and low-cost spay/neuter training. The members began immediately working toward bringing this model to San Joaquin Valley, and Stockton was chosen as the sight for their first clinic. After securing a grant from the wonderful people at PetsMart Charities a building was found, staff hired and sent to Ashville for training at the Humane Alliance facility where they learned about low-cost, high-volume spaying and neutering. Our clinic opened in late July 2009 providing low cost service to all residents of all income levels. We hope to prevent the births of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens, thereby lowering shelter intake and reducing the number of dogs and cats that’s euthanized. Here at ACT we have a clean, beautiful facility and employ a high quality veterinary team who care deeply about their patients and our mission to end the killing in our area!We serve in Stockton, CA.
